Charging Hub officially inaugurated in Milton Keynes

18-03-2019, 15:00:38

BP Chargemaster have officially unveiled the Electric Vehicle charging hub at Milton Keynes Coachway alongside MK Council and the EV Experience Centre team.

Located just a few minutes from the M1 junction 14, and 5 minutes from the EV Experience Centre, the hub is the largest universal charging hub for electric vehicles in the UK with 8 50kW rapid chargers. The site is already popular amongst EV drivers and a great location to show new or interested drivers how rapid charging works and the different connectors available.

Designed and constructed by Milton Keynes Council and contractors Ringway, the hub was funded as part of the Go Ultra Low City programme, aimed at encouraging the uptake of electric cars.

The charging hub was officially opened with the cutting of a green ribbon by Councillor Martin Petchey, Mayor of Milton Keynes, alongside Brian Matthews, Head of Transport Innovation at Milton Keynes Council, and David Martell, Chief Executive of BP Chargemaster.

All 8 units on site are 50kW Ultracharge units, and available on the Polar public network, with a Polar Plus membership RFID card or through the Polar Instant pay as you go app.
